1 Sam 3: 8-10 “The Lord called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am: you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you say, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.” So Samuel went and laid down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel, Samuel” Then Samuel said. “Speak, for your servant is listening.”
Today’s prayer is that like Eli, we will lead young men and women to hear directly from the Lord. Our role in each Trek participants faith development is to teach them how to hear from God, today’s prayer is about being Eli, not Samuel. Like Eli we must point people to what God is doing in their life, we are spiritual guides. Pray today for a guides heart for all of our staff, pray that like Eli our staff recognizes the movements of the spirit, and shows our participants how to say “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.” God has a specific message for every person who comes this year, pray that we help them hear it clearly, and with great confidence.
Blessings
