Due to the state order issued by the Governor of New Mexico to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus to vulnerable communities in New Mexico, our basecamp is currently closed to all visitors until June 1, 2020.
Additionally, after much prayer and talking with state and national health officials, church leaders, our customers, and several health professionals serving on the front lines, we have decided to suspend our summer group operations for multi-day backcountry trips and gatherings through July 20th.
If you have a trip with us scheduled for after July 20, Aug, Sept, or Oct we will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate with you as the summer progresses. Moving forward we will not resume group programming until we can answer all 3 of the following questions.
- Have we been given the approval to operate from the federal, state and local health departments?
- Can we operate in a way that does not put our staff, customers, churches we serve, and local communities we operate in at risk from catching or passing along this virus?
- Do we have the resources and necessary supplies needed to provide a safe experience for everyone involved?
We want to thank all of our customers and Trek family that have been so supportive to us during the past few weeks. We look forward to working with everyone next summer and for years to come!
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us at info@wildernesstrek.org
*Because we are a non-profit and over 75% of our revenue comes from our now suspended summer trips. We are asking our Trek family to help support us by making a donation to our ministry so that we can continue to provide wonderful Wilderness Trips to generations of students.
